Earlier this summer, the A.W. Oakes & Son paving crews successfully completed a significant infrastructure project for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (@wisdot) on Lake Drive, located on the north side of Milwaukee. This project is a prime example of our commitment to precision, quality, and utilizing latest technology to deliver lasting results for the communities we serve.
The paving work on Lake Drive was a dual-lane project that demanded a meticulous approach. As a vital artery for daily commuters and local residents, this roadway required a durable and smooth surface that would withstand heavy traffic and the seasonal elements of Wisconsin for years to come. Meeting this challenge meant employing a method that guaranteed exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
For this project, our crews utilized state-of-the-art stringless paving technology. This advanced system eliminates the need for traditional physical string lines, relying instead on 3D digital models and GPS-guided equipment. By translating a virtual design directly to the machinery, we are able to achieve an unmatched level of precision in grading and concrete placement. This not only results in a more uniform and higher-quality road surface, but also reduces material waste and streamlines the construction process.
Our dedicated team of professionals worked tirelessly to ensure every stage of the project was executed flawlessly. From the detailed preparation of the sub-base to the skilled operation of our paving equipment, the A.W. Oakes & Son crew demonstrated the expertise and dedication that has defined our company for generations. The result is a beautifully paved section of Lake Drive that enhances safety and provides a smoother ride for everyone who travels it.
At A.W. Oakes & Son, we take immense pride in our role as a trusted partner in building and maintaining the infrastructure of southeastern Wisconsin. We are proud of the work we accomplished on Lake Drive and look forward to continuing to deliver projects that have a positive and lasting impact on our community.
