Position Summary

Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance of gas and diesel light and heavy duty trucks, and trailers in our maintenance facility. You will be tasked with making mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on equipment such as light and heavy trucks, trailers, small engines, components and more.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance/machine inspections
  • Troubleshoot issues with gas & diesel engines
  • Determine parts & tools necessary for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
  • Complete service paperwork and entry in maintenance program
  • Complete safety and DOT inspections
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Use proper PPE at all times
  • Timely completion of timecards and remittance of invoices and receipts

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • 3 years minimum experience with heavy truck or diesel/heavy equipment repair
  • Manual dexterity
  • Welding experience - basic (preferred, not required)
  • Annual DOT experience (preferred, not required)
  • Class B CDL License (preferred, we do have an employee re-payment program to those who wish to attain)
  • Legible and neat penmanship; basic computer skills

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test & background check
  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Must be flexible regarding work hours, including the possibility of out-of-town work
  • A typical workday is between 8-10-hours (Monday Friday)
  • Weekend over-time is available

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat.

Pay: $25-$35/hour

  • Monday to Friday (Saturdays when required)
