Face Mask Mandate - WI Requirements for COVID-19

WI Governor Evers, in an effort to reduce transmission of the COVID virus, issued a statewide mask mandate—starting Saturday, August 1, 2020 and lasting until the end of September. A.W. Oakes, Oakes Transport and Stronghold Industries will follow this mandate.

To help keep all of us healthy and help protect others, we feel the following steps are necessary:

  • Employees will be required to wear a mask on job sites, in the office, in our shops, job trailers and all other locations--when they are closer than 6-feet to anyone else OR if they are in a public area.
  • If you are alone in your own office or work area, you do not need to wear a mask. If you come within 6 feet of anyone, you and the other party must wear a mask. You must wear a mask in any inside area such as hallways/walkways, break rooms, conference rooms, or any other common use areas.
  • These requirements take into account both the State and City of Racine’s mask mandates—requiring masks to be worn basically everywhere statewide— and when a 6 ft distance cannot be maintained outdoors.
  • Further—if a customer requires masks to be worn outdoors at all times on a job site, then employees must follow that requirement—PM’s and Foremen will inform their crews if this is the case.
  • If more than one person is riding in a company vehicle, or riding in a personal vehicle for business purposes, all parties must wear a mask.
  • Facemasks must be worn outdoors when it is not possible to maintain a 6-foot distance between employees.
  • Please keep sanitizing your workspaces, equipment & vehicles, washing your hands and social distancing.

Also: Oakes has provided a washable mask to most, if not all employees. However, please plan to bring/use your own mask going forward.

Thank you for your cooperation and hopefully all of our efforts will help keep us healthy!
